  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter and cocoa powder for greasing ramekins

Recipe

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
  2. In a medium bowl, melt chocolate and butter together over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring until smooth.
  3. Whisk in powdered sugar until well combined. Add eggs and egg yolks, mixing until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Fold in flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  6. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are firm but the centers are still soft.
  7. Let the cakes cool for 1 minute before inverting onto plates. Serve warm with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
